| summary | In this talk, I will present a spatio-temporal-chromatic model of the human retina. This model is based on a simple model of neurons and synapses present in the retina. From these elements, we can infer the processing of the whole neural network. Moreover, if we consider a pixel in an image as the activity of a photoreceptor, we can apply the model on image sequences and show the image processing properties of the retina. I demonstrate how we can use this model for digital camera : color reconstruction in single chip digital camera (demosaicing), and for high dynamic range rendering. Finally, I will discuss current developpement on the model with random sampling of chromatic values and application of the model for sensory substitution. |
