summary | Logic has a long history from Aristotle who is called the founder of logic and also a great advance since G. Frege who is called the founder of modern logic. And there are many philosophers in the history of philosophy who desired to develop logic and even gave many names to logic, such as inductive logic, transcendental logic, dialectical logic, etc… But what is logic? What makes logic to be a science? What use does logic have as a science?
It is well known that Aristotle is not only the founder of logic, but also the founder of metaphysics, while G. Frege is not only the founder of modern logic, but also called the founder of analytic philosophy or philosophy of language. So it is natural to ask whether there is anything logic has to do with philosophy, and what it is, if there is.
It is good and also useful to have a right concept of logic. |
