summaryI will present results of two studies that use experimental and modeling techniques to examine sensorimotor integration during reaching in humans. The first study examined the organization of the control mechanisms underlying responses to visual perturbations during reaching. The second study addressed plasticity of these mechanisms during a visuomotor dissociation task. Results of these studies indicate that the online control of reaching includes proportional error feedback. This feedback control signal relies on internal models, and it can be selectively modulated during learning.
