| summary | I will defend mathematical trivialism: the view that the truths of pure mathematics have trivial truth-conditions and the falsities of pure mathematics have trivial falsity-conditions.
The talk will be based on 'Towards a Trivialist Account of Mathematics' <http://web.mit.edu/arayo/www/km.pdf>. There is no need to read anything in advance. Should anyone be interested in preparing for the talk, though, what I would recommend is having a look at the following paper instead:
<http://web.mit.edu/arayo/www/sb.pdf>. It goes over some of the main ideas in the paper I'll be talking about, but is a better introduction to the material. |
