| summary | The main goal is to develop a model of the open future capable of accommodating the main intuitions behind it within traditional non-relativistic semantics. In order to do so I will make use of Priorean tense logic, taking into account some recent developments of it, i.e. hybrid approaches. I will claim that, coupled with an appropriate notion of truth and truth-value gaps, the so-called problem of future contingents does not motivate the adoption of a relativistic semantics. Although I intend to focus on semantic aspects, my proposal will have some consequences for our metaphysical view on time and for the debate between temporalists and eternalists. |
