summaryThe talk will offer evidence that nature has forced lateralized, asymmetrical, auditiory processing on us. The initial force is physical (non-biological) but its effects unfold developmenally (biologically). Some early consequence for learning are clear and dramatic. My hope for the presentaion is that there will be an open discussion of the causes and the implications of asymmetric processing for the development of both speech perception and production.
