| summary | In this talk, I will examine the basis of the commonly made distinction between imagining-that and imagining-of. I will consider to what extent it is properly characterised as the distinction between: propositional and non-propositional imagining; general and singular imagining; imagining which can occur without imagery, and that which cannot. In the course of the paper, I will reject Amy Kind's arguments that all imagination involves imagery. |
