summaryIn the neocortex, stimulation of Fast Spiking (FS) interneurons triggers gamma oscillation, an electrical expression of long-term memory. The seminar will describe one subclass of FS interneurons enwrapped by the PeriNeuronal Net (PNN) and containing few specific proteases known to reshape the PNN. This observation is important since modifying the structure of PNN affects plasticity, critical period and long-term memory.
