summaryTheories of pleasure standardly proceed on the assumption that the nature of pleasure is prior and independent from its value. I shall here argue, on the contrary, that part of what pleasure is is to be good in some way. Beside, I shall argue that all pleasures, including bodily ones, are intentional episodes. Pleasures, on the whole, are hedonically good intentional episodes.
