| summary | What neural mechanisms allow us not only to automatically process sensory information, but also to become conscious of this information? What is the role of attention in these mechanisms? I will present studies in experimental psychology, electrophysiology (EEG-MEG) and fMRI which uncover the particular neural dynamics associated with conscious perception, and clarify the role of top-down modulation by attention in these mechanisms. |
