summaryDr Floren Colloud holds a PhD in Biomechanics of Human Movement (2003) from the Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1 — France. During his PhD with his supervisor Pr. Laurence Chèze, Floren developped a 3D model to compute kinematics, forces, muscular moments, muscular powers at each joint of the rower to establish relationships between movement and mechanical actions. In 2003, he was granted financial support for postdoctoral position (Bourse Lavoisier - Egide - Ministère des Affaires Etrangères) to join Pr. Richard Smith’s research team (Faculty of Health Sciences — The University of Sydney — Australia). He was appointed as lecturer in Biomechanics at the Université Joseph Fourier Grenoble 1 — France (2004-2005) and he is currently lecturer in Biomechanics at the Université de Poitiers — France. His research interests focused on developing 3D biomechanic models for human movements and simulation of sport movements. Floren is actually leading the Multibody System Dynamics team — RoBioSS. Floren is a former elite rower. He passed his Coaching certificates for rowing, first and second levels in 1997 and 2000, respectively.
