| summary | According to the theses of embodied, extended and enacted cognition (E3 cognition), at least some mental processes do not supervene on brain processes. But what is the status of these theses? Are they philosophical theses? Are they theses of cognitive science? Or are they theses that belong to the philosophy of cognitive science? I shall defend the claim that these theses are, fundamentally, philosophical ones, and that the debate between opponents and proponents of E3 cognition cannot be adjudicated at the level of cognitive science or philosophy of cognitive science. |
