| summary | In this talk we summarize some recent work at The MARCS Institute that has examined the ability of the elderly to perceive speech in noise and use visual speech. We show how Auditory Steady State Responses (ASSR) can be used as a brain-based measure of selective attention and suggest how this might be used as part of an assessment tool for a planned speech in noise training program (that has a focus on attention to speech in multiple-person settings). |
