summary | 7 Tesla MRI can be used in neuroradiology to increase our understanding of brain diseases and in certain patients for a better diagnosis in clinical practice. In the current presentation I give examples of better diagnosis of parenchyma lesions including the detection of small infarcts in the cortex, deep gray matter and cerebellum. Furthermore, I will show the detection of small tumors in the pituitary gland. Finally, I will show the use of detailed vessel wall MRI before and after contrast for the detection of smaller and larger vessel wall lesions at 7 Tesla MRI. For improving diagnosis with 7 Tesla MRI an improved contrast-to-noise ratio (CNR) is as important as the improvement in signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). |
