summaryEvidence for the prolonged benefits of bilingualism on executive control in older age has been demonstrated using healthy older participants. This talk will extend those effects into aging that includes cognitive impairment and dementia and examine how an advantage in executive control might protect memory function in older age, especially in the case of neurodegenerative disease.
