| summary | Evolutionary algorithms have parameters that greatly influence their performance. This fact has
been largely ignored in the first decades of development of the field, but today the issue is being recognized
as one of the major challenges for researchers as well as practitioners. In this talk I present a framework to
describe and study the related problem(s), distinguish parameter tuning (before the run) and parameter
control (during the run), and highlight a few promising approaches and related results. |
