| summary | I'd speak about the origin of the insect eye and nervous system, and introduce some of the challenges pertaining to the question of insect brain-mammalian brain homologies. The first part of the talk would be based on our research on 515million year old fossil brains and eyes; the second part would review our work on homologies of mushroom bodies and hippocampi across 5 phyla. |
