| summary | Statistics indicate that human error is the predominant cause of accidents in civil and military aviation. Human and material issues motivate the implementation of new human factor research paradigms to continue to increase aviation safety, comfort, and flight performance. In addition, the potential technological breakthroughs (single pilot, 4D navigation, increased automation, ecological Man Machine Interfaces, touch screens ...) must be accompanied by an assessment of their impact on air operations. An original and innovative approach is to use the tools and concepts of neuroscience in order to go beyond the classical approach based on the analysis of the observable behavior. |
