summarySince the seminal work of James, research on the autonomic specificity of emotion remains largely debated. I will present current endeavors to approach emotion responses in a temporal dynamic perspective. First, in the frame of the vagal tank theory, I will defend that reactions occurring while facing an emotional situation depend on the autonomic state preceding the event, and have physiological repercussions even several minutes after the experience of emotion is over.  Second, I will present different methods developed to capture the dynamics of emotion. Findings will be discussed in the frame of body-mind theory.
