summaryConvinced that the studies of artificial and biological "intelligence" can seed and foster each other, and in particular in the field of robotics, we have developed a toy learning robot, named "AlphAI", capable of acquiring diverse navigation behaviors using supervised or reinforcement learning. Coupled with a graphic interface displaying details of its neural network activity in real time, it has become an innovating solution to teach Artificial Intelligence, and we have founded an EdTech startup to commercialize it to secondary and higher education. We will present this solution through a live demo, and discuss the links with neuroscience. We will show in particular how behavior acquisition through reinforcement learning shares similarities with biology (consolidations, explorations, etc.), and suggest possible comparative studies with animal behavior based on the quantitative analysis of neuronal activity along the sensory-motor pathway.
