| summary | Inter-individual variability plays a key role in shaping reward-seeking strategies and the emergence of social structures. In turn, group organization influences the expression of individual differences, reinforcing behavioral specializations. In this talk, I will present our works in semi-natural environments, where genetically identical mice develop distinct roles, showing stable differences in exploration, reward seeking, and reinforcement learning. These behavioral variations are closely linked to dopaminergic function, which not only modulates learning and the balance between exploration and exploitation but is itself influenced by social experience. By combining behavioral and neurophysiological approaches, we aim to understand how dopamine integrates individual and collective dynamics, shaping both social organization and reward-seeking strategies. These findings provide insight into the neurobiological mechanisms underlying behavioral specialization and potential difference in vulnerabilities to pathologies. |
