| summary | For several decades, the interactions between the cerebellum and the cortex have been thought as operating in closed loops implementing “internal models”, in which the cerebellum performs predictions on the consequences of actions. This paradigm is a generalization of the interaction of the cerebellum with the motor cortex. Yet, by examining the contribution of the cerebellum to various forms of implicit learning and by studying the organization of the cerebello-cortical circuits, our work is offering new perspectives on the way the cerebellum may participate to the functions of the forebrain, notably in learning. |
