summarySynaptic connections determine the functional capacity of the central nervous system throughout life. Glia, the non-neuronal cells of the brain, play key roles in synapse remodeling and are important conduits through which the immune system communicates with the brain. My group aims to mechanistically define the impact of immune signals in brain development, aging, and disease, including in neurodevelopmental and neurodegenerative disorders. Our lab uses a combination of transcriptomics, mouse genetics, synaptic analyses, and behavior to address these questions.
