| summary | Recording notes in content-area class lectures, can be a difficult and at times, daunting task, particularly for students with learning difficulties. From a cognitive perspective, note taking during lectures involves the rapid, yet careful coordination of working memory processes. One solution to help students with the cognitive demands of note-taking is the use of smartpens. During lectures, students can use smartpens to record partial notes, and when the lecture ends, return to their notes to amend them. I will present the findings from two studies that taught students with and without learning difficulties to record notes using smartpens. |
