| summary | The idea of plant intelligence, now debated in the scientific community, is based on numerous observations describing some surprising behavioral responses of plants to new events and situations, which are related to the perception of the environment, communication and sociability, competition for resources, predation and defenses, but also learning and anticipation. This talk will present an overview of some of these observational facts, with their interpretation in behavioral terms, and will address the questions and issues that this raises. |
