summaryWe know that although two heads can be better than one but two many cooks can spoil the broth. This simple observation of popular wisdom tells us that accuracy of collective decisions cannot be a reliable motive for taking the trouble of deciding things together. In my talk I will provide empirical evidence from human behaviour and neurobiology to argue that the benefits of shared responsibility are more reliable and consistent and therefore a strong motive for collective decision making.
