| summary | In this presentation, I will show different types of complex verbal clauses in Swo. Complex verbal clauses are defined here as clauses that involve more than one verb but no syntactic marker (e.g. and) to link them together, describing one unique event. Besides a lexical verb, complex verbal clauses may include an auxiliary or a semi-/quasi-auxiliary, or the structure may consist of more than one lexical verb and (seem to) form a serial verb construction. We will have a look at all these structures in turn. |
