summaryThe conference will host twelve top invited plenary speakers working on neural coding as well as neural circuit mechanisms and development from a broad range of approaches and animal models, including primate, rodent, fly, squirrel, song bird and human models. The speakers are: Thomas Clandinin (Stanford University, flies); Eberhard Fetz (Univ. Washington, primates); Kenneth Harris (UCL, rodents); Roozbeh Kiani (NYU, primates); Gero Miesenböck (Univ.Oxford, flies); Pierre Vanderhaeghen (ULB, in vitro mouse and human stem cells); James DiCarlo (MIT, primates); Jack Gallant (Univ.California, human fMRI); Sonja Hofer (Univ. Basel, rodents); Wei Li (NIH, squirrel retina); Daniel Margoliash (Univ.Chicago, song birds); Josef Parvizi (Stanford, human electrophysiology); There is no registration fee, but online registration is required (max. 200 participants). One aim of the conference is to open the stage to young researchers, PhDs and postdocs, whom we encourage to submit an abstract. Eight abstracts will be selected for short talks (10 minutes + questions) that will be interleaved with plenary speaker presentations. Other accepted abstracts will be presented in two lively poster sessions. Prizes for the best young researcher poster/presentations will be awarded.
